Recently there has been cases whereby passengers were holding MEA tickets purchased using third-party credit cards without the knowledge or consent of the rightful cardholders.
Victims are often approached by individuals claiming to have access to special MEA fares in exchange for cash. After receiving payment, these individuals purchase tickets online using stolen credit card details. When the legitimate cardholder later initiates a chargeback, the ticket is suspended, and the passenger is forced to purchase a new ticket. As a result, the passenger suffers a financial loss, having already paid cash to the fraudster.
